ARPA's closest association with K.C. Trading, Ltd is though the joint venture of the FFSS or Field Food Service System.
The FFSS is a unique technologically advanced field feeding platform that is capable of operation in normal, as well as the most adverse climatic conditions. The FFSS is comprised of the Marine Rapid Deployment Kitchen (MRDK), and the Field Sanitation Unit (FSU). The FSU is capable of stand alone operation or as part of the FFSS.
When deployed, this system is designed to be operated and maintained with a minimum amount of personnel to prepare 850 meals twice daily. The FFSS has been designed to operate in a temperature range of -25°F to 124°F when outfitted with the appropriate severe weather accessories.
The FFSS system is designed around the rapid deployment concept. The FFSS is made up of three ISO dimensional containers each measuring 8 feet wide by 8 feet high by 20 feet long. The MRDK subsystem is comprised of 2 containers adjoined together making a 16 foot wide by 8 foot high by 20 foot long completely self contained electrical kitchen. All that is required for operation is power, potable water, cleaning supplies, and operational rations. The third container is the FSU.
